Thank you AnnieMacD, I'm sure you could do it :D Sunset was worth waiting for, and after spending the day in the hills, I was in no rush :D

The face certainly did at that point, but reaching the top of Bhearnnais and that sunset I soon forgot the haul up. Selfie stick, good heavens no, a man of my standing

Thanks for this, we've been pondering these two, and quite fancy your route in, but will probably do it slowly and camp  Great to get your insight into these hills.

Thanks Huff n Puff. I reckon you could camp pretty much anywhere beneath Sheasgaich along my route :D

Look amazing.

Hopefully be able to do this in the warmer months. But rather than do it all in 1 shift, I would split it into 2 and wild camp overnight.

Wow great report and walk, I have only ever done one walk where I have not seen anyone else and that was Ben Loyal :) Do you really mean that boots should not hurt after 13.5 hours, mine hurt are pretty painful at about 4 hours (along with knees).................perhaps I have the wrong boots? Good to ask an expert this question I think :)

Thanks Bean :D Not sure about being a foot expert  , but maybe because I went for not so common winter boots, Berghaus Kibos. Having read much on Scarpa Mantas tried a pair on and they felt like bricks  I've found the same when trying 'summer' boots, seems to me I know as soon as I put my foot in whether I'll like them or not, they either feel comfy straight away or not, if not try something else. My summer ones Meindl Bhutans came out the box and did the Fisherfields :D

The Kibos were like that, although I did order online and took a chance on size, but they seem to have more padding in the right places, as do the Bhutans and that makes for comfy walking which is key.

Dave, I don't know how I missed this report when you put it on  but what a hike ! I did the exact same route as you and the bit you put on about ascending Sheasgaich from Beinn Tharsuinn . I remember looking and decided to go up the diagonal grassy slopes to the left at the end of the wall (which looked easy) but when I got down to the bealach and had a look I couldn`t see the grass  So I ended up following Fern directly up the front, which turned out to be not so bad. If a dog can do it then so can I was the logic

Wee Fernie got up there on her own, I hardly believed it :-)

I know the slopes you mention, looked at those too, fair bit of snow when I was there which may have made it easier but not so sure looking at your pic

Fern was certainly a mountain dog, bless her :(

Be returning to these though, once the memory fades of the climb back out

I`m not sure that memory will ever fade Dave it seemed to take for ever to get up to the bealach  When that memory becomes less painful  let me know as I would definitely walk these hills again
