If you are planning to do the Skye Trail http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/skye/skye-trail.shtml then you can buy food etc. in Portree.

Indeed, there are decent supermarkets in Broadford and Portree where you can restock fully. The other smaller villages do sometimes have a small shop, but if you do something like the Skye Trail, you don't pass through places really, other than Portree.

thank you a lot. this website is so great and this forum.
seems like this trail is for experienced hikers. parts no signs, cardreading compass experience adviced. perhaps i will do the easy part?
i checked the island, and there are more easyer trails. so im going to be happy.

thanks a bunch

Hi Peter, if you are camping in Skye in the summer you won't need to carry food for 3-4 days as the midges will have eaten you by the end of your first evening!
