We varied the starting point of this walk slightly from the attached route by parking at Loch Morlich near the Deer Centre.
The paths (nay, trails) were very obvious and well constructed lower down, and with hindsight, we could have cycled as far as the bridge over the river Nethy to shorten the route somewhat, even as non mountain bikers (maybe walking a couple of gravelly bits). Plenty of people were doing this. The path on the mountain continued obvious until the summit ridge, where a couple of alternatives exist as you go up through the little crags. This section goes on longer than you imagine making the summit rewarding on what is otherwise a quite pedestrian stroll (if you're fit) up a gentle mountain on well-constructed paths.
Great Munro, great views over Cairngorms and Moray Firth.
