This was my first walk for nearly 7 weeks due to being busy at work, terrible weather on days off and assorted family commitments. Also admit to being a bit apprehensive about tackling hills in Winter, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one...don't know how my legs will be tomorrow though.

The walk itself was pretty uneventful, but it was great to be out and about again and the views were fantastic from the summit, with even Ailsa Craig visible in the distance. However, it was cold enough to freeze the wotsits off a brass monkey at the top and there aint any shelter to be had there, so it was a brief rest then I got going again. Things I need from santa: thermal underwear, thermal gloves, thermal hat and something to warm a caramel wafer - nearly broke my teeth trying to eat it.

The route has been described by others much more eloquently than I could manage so here are a few pictures.

Merrywalker - took me 4hrs 10mins, was going pretty quick (for me anyway) on descent to get back home for kids coming out of school.

Kevsbald - good tip on the caramel wafer. I really have to sort out my clothing, I went from too warm to too cold back to too warm.

Cheers

i dunno how you guys walk so quickly!
4hrs is a good time! but you mean 4 hrs up and down or just up..?
i was there recently and managed to reach the summit in 4 hrs (way up only), munro guide says the average time is 3hrs 40mins. i was up and down (arrochar -beinn ime- arrochar) in exactly 7 hrs.

Blueyed...you got me checking my times now. Left succoth at 0920 and got back at 1330 and sent text to Mrs Dmack at 1335 to let her know I was down safe and to put my life insurance policy away (she remains hopeful). As I said I was too cold to hang about much and am a bit OCD about time keeping. Also am blessed with quite long legs.
