We parked at the Golf club car park and headed for the Law, the hard packed snow had turned to sheer Ice, thanks to my Brother in Law David for the early Christmas present - a pair of Kahtoola micro spikes, fantastic for this kind of walk and the Ice we encountered. I have added a picture below that shows them, one of the best Christmas presents ever :D .
The weather was not to bad when we started but their was a good blow at the top and the wind chill was low.
We did not spend to long on the top and opted to have our break once we dropped down the back before heading up Ben Ever. This proved to be a wise move as it was really pleasant once we were out of the wind.
The decent was fine for David and myself, Ian found it a little bit of a challenge due to the Ice (Micro spikes on order as soon as he gets home me thinks).
We all really enjoyed the walk and it was idea as a winter walk for inexperienced walkers like us.
