The Stables
Ardmaddy Castle, nr ObanArdmaddy, once a MacDougall castle, was acquired by the Campbells of Breadalbane in the late 17th-century to form the western bastion of their estates, which at that time extended as far east as Taymouth Castle in Perthshire. This magnificent defensive position grants today's (more peaceable) visitors an outstanding location - on the sea and amongst the unspoilt hills and glens of a quiet peninsula overlooking Seil Sound, about 12miles south of Oban.

InverarayThis delightful historic cottage stands detached overlooking Loch Fyne. Reached via an unmade road, it is ideal for watching the deer and red squirrels which are frequent visitors. The area has good walking, bird-watching, fishing and riding. Inveraray Castle, home to the Clan Campbell, is only five miles. Visit the Woollen Mill and enjoy some refreshments at one of the many coffee shops and restaurants at Inveraray. There are National Trust gardens to explore as well as marked walking paths.
North Tullich
