Tyndrum, Dalmally and Bridge of Orchy

With its strategic position Tyndrum is often quickly passed through by visitors en route to Oban or Fort William, but this area has great mountains of its own. From the graceful peak of Ben Lui just south of the village, to the familiar pyramid of Ben Dorain above Bridge of Orchy, this area has a score of Munros.

To the west of Tyndrum is Dalmally and the beautiful head of Loch Awe. Ben Cruachan is the celebrated peak in this area, its great rocky summits high above its hollow heart, for inside the mountain is a hydro-electric power station. Beautiful and peaceful Glen Orchy, rich with waterfalls, links Dalmally with Bridge of Orchy to complete the triangle of routes.
