Glendarual The Glen of Bloody Water Walk
Route: LL&C Way: Tighnabruaich to Glendaruel
Date walked: 10/04/2015
Time taken: 2 hours
Distance: 9.25km
This walk not for big hill climbers no hills bagged
Walk started at clachan of Glendarual. Disappointed that Glendarual Hotel was closed for good . Parked car next to closed hotel, there is also car park at the old church. Took in the old church and medieval Headstones before the walk . The walk is mainly flat all on tarmac following a B road through the glen. At this time of year the wild live was sheep and lambs for half of walk but it was a pleasant day. The road winds through the glen past several farms, some posh cottages at and one bed and breakfast about half way . There is also a Caravan park and Camping area close to B+B . Using the guide from the Walk Highlanda website to locate points of interest during walk (good guide). The landscape changes from farming land to boggy land as you come to end of walk. You come to the main road which ends the walk, no amenities present and only having one car with us we proceeded to do the walk in reverse(another two hours back to car). Next leg of Cowal way planned for May. Easiest leg of Cowal Way so far.
