After a long day yesterday on the Eastern Fannaichs, we had a later start and took our time having breakfast and breaking camp. We then had to cycle back to the A832 with all our gear. This wasn’t as hard as I expected, although I did feel a bit unsteady on the bike!



Once back at the cars we drove round to begin today’s walk from the north. Hannah opted not to join us today, so she dropped us at the start and arranged to meet us later. We followed the landrover track to the bridge over the outflow of Loch a’Bhraoin, then chose to take the track leading to Loch Fannaich as far as the bealach at 560m. We missed the crossing of the Allt Breabaig but as we were still on a path on the west bank, we followed this until it petered out. At that point, we crossed the stream and rejoined the original path.




From the bealach there is a path that climbs steeply up the shoulder of Sgurr Breac. After three days of walking, my legs were pretty tired, but we made good time to a rather windy summit.




From here we descended to the col, up and over Toman Coinich and then up A’Chailleach, our ninth and final munro of the weekend.




The wind seemed stronger here so we didn’t hang about, but returned to the top of Toman Coinich, where Colin expressed his disappointment that there would be no more climbing!!! I’m not sure how genuine this disappointment was!

We then descended the Druim Reidh, which was a pleasant gentle stroll until the cairn at 600m, from where the path drops steeply down to the bridge at Loch a’Bhraoin and it is then a short walk back to the car park.
