Parked the van overnight in the car park at Blaen-y-glyn (grid ref so056176) so we could have an early start in the morning.

The cloud started to break and clear early and the sun was shining all day The start of the walk is marked by a couple of water falls.

As you start to climb the path becomes steeper the higher you get until you get to Craig y Fan Ddu.

The walk along the ridge to Bwlch y Ddwynallt is easy at which point we turned west and headed for Fan y Big.

On reaching Fan y Big we dropped down to the track and walked the 4 miles back to the van. As we neared the road we could hear the Brecon beacons mountain railway steam train.
