Balvenie is a delightful old cottage, one of the oldest in Braemar. Part of the building is 'listed' and retains many old features. The cottage has been comfortably furnished and has a modern bath and shower room. Outside there is a large secluded garden with a summerhouse containing barbecue facilities.

Braemar is a haven for the outdoor enthusiast with many walks within the village or just a short drive away. It is home to the famous "Braemar Gathering" held on the first Saturday of September and attended by the Queen. Balmoral Castle is close by and open to the public when the Queen is not in residence.

Electricity is by coin meter, and Heather Cottage boasts an open fire in the living area. Adjacent to the properties is a laundry room equipped with drying area, washing machine, tumble drier and space for large storage such as bicycles, ample parking.

Very close by is a small loch, which can be fished on purchase of a permit. The loch is renowned for good bird-watching. The cottage is owned and run by the Cairngorm Reindeer Centre, so a free visit to the reindeer herd is included.
