This group of four small lochs set amidst the wild scenery and pines of Glen Feshie is a real hidden gem. The walk climbs Farleitter Crag with all round views and passes through forestry busy with red squirrels and then back to the lochans where there are secluded picnic tables.

1. Take the road up the west side of Glen Feshie and turn right at the Forestry Commission sign for Uath Lochans. The car park and lochside picnic area is 200 metres further on. From the car park follow the red marker post to the far side of the parking area and turn left onto a track which curves around the Lochan. Ignore a path to the left unless you want a short detour to admire the view over the water. Continue straight ahead where another path leaves to the left. Start climbing steadily uphill keeping right at any junctions and following the red marker posts.
2. The path levels out and passes through an area of Scots Pine - some 120 years old. Turn right onto a smaller path, leaving the green signed route to continue straight ahead. The route now climbs more steeply and you are rewarded with increasingly good views between the trees.
3. The path crosses the top of the crags with good views in a number of places down to the three lochans and across to the far side of Glen Feshie. Keep following the clear path as it turns to face Strathspey and different views across the forestry, passing a seat on the way.
4. Soon a second seat is reached next to a large rock. Turn left and follow the path away from the edge of the crag and downhill. Continue straight ahead through the forestry when a path turns off to the left. Eventually a T junction is reached, turn right here and follow the straight path through the trees.
5. This path reaches a track, turn right following a section of the Badenoch Way (an 11 mile route linking Ruthven Barracks to Loch Alvie). The track turns slightly right and heads gently downhill following a line of pylons for a short distance. Follow the track into the woods leaving the Badenoch Way to head left on a path. At the next junction turn right skirting the edge of the woods which is a good place to spot red squirrels.
6. Continue on the track, following the red marker posts. The crags come into view ahead and the track passes a more open area before reaching the outward track. Turn left here and soon you return to the car park and the start of the walk.
