The Glenuig Inn – a great base for doing things on the West Coast of Scotland, located right beside the beach in a sheltered bay at the centre of the Sound of Arisaig. Our combination of a traditional highland inn and modern, practical, accommodation sets us apart on this coast, only 35 miles from Fort William, and just off the beautiful Road to the Isles.

Outside the Inn door is probably one of the best playgrounds on the West Coast of Scotland, so bring your boots, bikes and boats to really enjoy our stunning location beside the Sound of Arisaig Marine Conservation Area.

Nestling in the very heart of Glencoe, amongst the spectacular and majestic mountains of the Scottish Highlands, Clachaig Inn has been a source of accommodation and hospitality for travellers for over three hundred years.

Today it provides modern comfortable accommodation which is complimented with a traditional hearty Scottish breakfast - a really great way to start the day! The hotel has 23 fully modernised en-suite bedrooms with a choice of double, twin and family rooms. All have shower and toilet facilities, with some having a bath as well. Many of our bedrooms enjoy magnificent mountain views.

Glenfinnan House Hotel stands just around the bay from the tall Bonnie Prince Charlie monument on Loch Shiel, with its lawn rolling down to the beach. The famous Glenfinnan viaduct railway bridge, used as a scene in several Harry Potter films, is a 10-minute walk away through the Glenfinnan Estate where Red Deer can often be seen.

Today Manja and Duncan Gibson are the resident managers – and extremely hospitable hosts – who will welcome you into the delightful Hall, with its log fire blazing. Dating from 1885 and based at the seat of the Ancient Clan Macdonnell, the Hotel is steeped in history and character. Over the years the Hotel has been used as a Sporting and Shooting Lodge and Hotel and is now in the present ownership of Nigel and Suzy Robson, who are from the North East of England and Edinburgh. Having bought the Hotel in 2006 the couple have refurbished several rooms and the entire ground floor of the Hotel which was completed February 2008.
