Kintail and Lochalsh walks

Kintail and Lochalsh are amongst the most popular areas for walks in the Scottish Highlands.

Kintail itself, together with neighbouring Cluanie, is famed for its classic mountain ridge walks. The Five Sisters and the South Glen Shiel Ridge are particular favourites of Munro baggers, whilst the Saddle is one of the most magnificent mountains in all Scotland. Closer to Skye is Lochalsh around the shores of Loch Duich. This area offers varied walking with villages such as Plockton as well as the areas main town at Kyle of Lochalsh. Across the dramatic Mam Ratagan pass is the remote and secluded Glenelg peninsula, a tranquil and peaceful haven remote from busy routes.

Our walks cater for all tastes from easy family rambles, through cross-country hikes to ascents of mighty Munro summits. The site also features an extensive accommodation directory, including hotels, self catering cottages, and hostels, as well as an online shop for local books and maps.
