Falls of Foyers no. 1

1. Cross the road from the car park and go through the left hand gate, opposite the shop, signed for the Falls of Foyers. Follow the stepped path downhill to a great viewpoint of the main falls. Then continue downhill ignoring a turn off to the right for now. The path ends at a further viewpoint. Then return to the junction and turn left following a well fenced path as it skirts the edge of the spectacular gorge.

Falls of Foyers no. 2

2. The path continues downhill through woodland with a good view of the lower falls. Eventually the path emerges at a gate with a hotel to the right. Turn left and head downhill passing houses until you reach the road at a T junction. Here turn left, passing a medical centre, and then continue straight on when the road bends to the right at some recycling bins. This short detour takes you to the lovely arched bridge of Lower Foyers. When you return to the road if you turn left downhill and left again you can cross the metal bridge and explore the other side of the river.

3. Otherwise return up the track towards the hotel and go back through the gate to the woodland walks area. Here you can turn left and follow a more direct route back to Upper Foyers, but the outward route, without the detours to the two viewpoints, is the most spectacular walk.
