Stob Ghabhar is the finest peak of the Black Mount range, with narrow rocky ridges, steep cliffs and deep corries. It is a familiar sight seen across the lochans of Rannoch Moor from the A82.

The classic long day hereabouts is the Black Mount traverse of four Munros. Start with Stob a' Choire Odhair and Stob Ghabhar before following ridges to Clach Liathad. From here Creise can be ascended, and then Meall a'Bhùiridh as the final summit before a descent to the ski-centre.
