The course is to learn to identify poisonoss fungi too - but I agree next to the title is unfortunate. We should have captioned the photo, which we've now done.

I think that the title of the article 'Go Mushrooming With Confidence' next to the headline picture of an Amanita Muscaria, commonly known as the Fly Agaric, is rather irresponsible. The Fly Agaric is considered poisonous or hallucinogenic and to display a picture of it next to that headline could result in people thinking that it is okay to eat.

This is a welcome development, to finish the way in the centre of FW and smack by a pub, but even better would be to divert the last section on to the minor road which leads into Fort William from the South, where it joins the WHW by a large sign. That's a much nicer walk into FW than the last section of the way, which is absolutely dire, going through a hideous plantation along a dark and root-stridden 'path' where you can't see a thing, then the last 2 miles along the Glen Nevis road is even worse. That was the worst part of the WHW for me and my GF when we did it 3 years back, and spoiled our otherwise fine memories of the walk.

I caught up with the programme as Julia was exploring Glen Coe and from then on it was a great representation of exactly what Scotland has to offer for those willing to leave the car behind. Matt Baker was also well suited and at Carrour he seemed to be overcome by the wilderness and beauty of Rannoch Moor. The sea loch at Glen Etive was
at its best. Top marks for the whole programme. We recently had a beautiful report from one of the walk highlands members who had undertaken the walk to Cape Wrath and wild camping all the way but also taking in the many bothy's that provide shelter ( I can see a whole new TV programme to 'Bothy's of Scotland') which only enhanced your programme as some of his photographs were of that final part of Julia and Matt's walk....I'm off to pack the rucksack and head off continuing my quest for monro's. Any chance of a follow up?

Glad to hear that the mining was turned down. There are no such thing as "long term jobs" where mining is concerned. Once the obvious metal is extracted (no matter the number of years) it gets too expensive to run the mine. I'm from Colorado and have seen the scars from old mines. The mining jobs would stop - and the scars would remain forever. I now live in Scotland and come to Tydrum for walking. That source of tourism is now protected. Well done!

Get a grip! We've got scenery galore while jobs are few. If the problem is with the waste management facility, hopefully Scotgold can come back with acceptable proposals.
