1. From the south side of the Bridge of Dochart in Killin take the minor road almost opposite the bridge following a sign for Auchmore Circuit. Follow this road under the old railway and around a sharp bend and then continue as it passes an entrance to Kinnell House, fields and woodland.
2. The road climbs gently uphill and past an area of felled trees where there are good views across to the dramatic outline of theTarmachan ridge which is very popular with hillwalkers.
3. Keep following the road until you cross a small bridge and immediately take a small path into the woods on the left heading downhill, This path is not waymarked and can be wet underfoot at times. The narrow path meanders downhill, passing large rhododendrons and native trees. Cross a wooden bridge and continue until the path emerges onto a track.
4. Turn left and head downhill on the track. The track crosses a stone bridge and passes a white house. Soon a track leads off to the right. If you want to visit the Kinnell stone circle which is in a field to the left of the house, you can follow this track but as it is private land you need to ask permission at the house or seek advice from the Tourist Information Centre in Killin. To follow the Auchmore Circuit route keep on the main track and go straight ahead. Eventually the track emerges onto the road near the Bridge of Dochart and the start of the walk.
