Strathearn, our valley, is one of the most beautiful and varied areas of Scotland, with a soft Highland flavour, yet only an hour's drive from Glasgow or Edinburgh.

Put your feet up in Culdees Bunkhouse or family rooms. Culdees has a laid-back home-from-home atmosphere; a music room with two piano’s, guitars and a violin; a large library; a sitting room with TV, Videos and DVD’s, a dining kitchen which seats 16 and breathtaking views over Loch Tay.

It is ideal as a base camp, being surrounded by twelve Munros. Non-walking members of your family can pursuit their own interests: painting, watersports, cycling, horseriding or just sightseeing.

The Bunkhouse, Glassie Farm provides two fantastic hilltop family / group accommodation self-catering units with amazing views overlooking Aberfeldy, situated 1,000 feet on a south facing hillside, the stunning location will make you feel extremely relaxed after a busy day out on the local hills and lochs. Which makes this the perfect location for club gatherings, stag and hen parties and outdoor activity weekends or just a place to re-charge / chill-out and take in the amazing scenery with family and friends.

The Grandtully is perfectly situated about 40 metres from The River Tay, which makes this the ideal base for all of your water based activities and is also ideally located for lots of Munro walking / climbing and mountain biking.

There are 10 rooms, of which 5 are en-suite, there are two family rooms with a double bed and a set of bunks, the other 8 have 2 single beds, so we can sleep upto 24 people. The site also has its own Cafe / Bar; The Tully. There is also a drying room facility for residents with de-humidifier and heaters.

Wester Caputh is an old farmhouse and steading on the outskirts of the village of Caputh which lies on the River Tay, four miles east of Dunkeld (with butcher, deli, grocer, salmon smokehouse, pubs, restaurants, train station) and 10 miles north of Perth. Catherine and Adrian offer a warm and friendly welcome to an inexpensive comfortable base for groups or individuals. The Lodge offers hostel or bunkhouse-style accommodation for up to 17 in five bunk-bedrooms (2x2, 1x3, 1x4, 1x6) with two showers with loos, and a separate loo. There is a large comfortable living and dining area, with wood burning stove, and a kitchen equipped for serious cooking! Outside is a paved patio and big grassy garden complete with BBQ. The House is also available for 8 to groups renting the Lodge.

Because the building used to be a hotel, Pitlochry Backpackers has a lovely and luxurious atmosphere and now is one of Scotland’s best hostels.

It’s such a relaxing place to stay and unwind in, with its big, cosy lounge, pool table and comfy sofas. You might only think you’re staying one night but you’ll end up staying three or four, or more – it’s that kind of place.

Pitlochry is a bustling, blooming small Victorian town at the very centre of Scotland. Situated on the River Tummel it comes complete with salmon Fish Ladder and Festival Theatre (May-Oct : 50% discount for Hostellers!). It contains the smallest whisky distillery in Scotland (free tours) and a 300-year-old Inn brewing its own ales. Set amidst hills, lochs and woodland Pitlochry makes a superb base for walkers and cyclists, as well as for tours by vehicle to a variety of attractions.
