1. From the back of the Foresty Commission car park at Carie walk to the impressive footbridge over the falls. Do not cross the bridge but take the path marked with a coloured post away from the bridge. Before reaching the picnic tables and large shelter, turn right gently uphill. Keep right at the next junction and then turn left onto a track. Follow this track which has pine trees to the left and more open woodland to the right. Keep right at a junction, following the yellow marker posts.

2. Follow the track through the trees, eventually rising high above the Allt na Bogair, glimpses of which can be caught through the trees on the left. The forest floor is quite open here and blaeberry and bracken flourish at the side of the path. The route passes through some lovely Scots pine trees.

3. A waterfall can be seen from near the footpath, take care as the drop is very steep here. Eventually the path descends to the burn and passes near a footbridge. Don't cross the bridge but continue on the path which rises to join a track.

4. Turn right onto the track, the other direction leads to Glen Lyon, a great walk but best done as a linear route. Follow the wide forestry track for a short while, looking out for a marked path to the right which plunges into the pine trees. Take this path and follow it until it emerges onto another track. Turn right, there are good views over Loch Rannoch from this section. Pass a small quarry and head downhill.

5. At a bend take a path to the right which has been marked with two small cairns. The path undulates through semi-cleared forestry to a small viewpoint and then descends until the outward path is reached. Turn left here and then left again at the next junction to return to the car park and the start of the walk.
