Historical base. Monkstadt became the seat of the Clan Macdonald in 1730 when they abandoned Duntulm Castle. Nearby are servants’ houses and a steading which includes a granary stable, cartshed and a mill with horse walk. Monkstadt has played a romantic role in highland history.
