1. Take the back road in Bettyhill, signed for the Pier, and then turn right off it onto a lane just beyond a lochan as the road bends left. There is a good sized area on the left side for parking. Begin the walk here and follow the lane which leads down to a picnic table overlooking Farr Bay. Head left along the coastline; the way is soon blocked by a fence but there is a (dilapidated) stile a short distance inland. Once across this it is necessary to gain quite a lot of height to pass above the coastline a safe distance away from the steep slippery slopes above the cliffs. There are good views back to the fine beach at the back of Farr Bay.

2. There is a brief descent to a second fence. Follow this to the right to pass around the end close to the cliff edge, then continue across the highest part of the Ard Mor headland. There are superb views across Torrisdale Bay to Neave Island and Eilean nan Ron, with Ben Loyal rising inland to their left. Avoid losing too much height and aim to return down the other side of the peninsula, just to the right of the wall boundary near the house.

3. The wall becomes a fence as it slopes down towards the coast. Go through the broken gate at the corner and continue on the inland side of the fence; the other side is dangerously close to the cliffs and is blocked when the fence turns further on. When the slope on the right relents drop down to gain the grassy track below and follow this inland. It passes an old ice-house and sweep net fishery which operated on the mouth of the River Navar for hundreds of years. Continue on the track until a tarmac road leads off to the left. Follow this and it leads back towards Bettyhill; take a left turn before the lochan to return to the start.
