1. From the A949 turn off at Spinningdale onto a minor road to Migdale and Airdens. After approximately 2km uphill there is a large parking layby on the right hand side, a couple of passing places before the signed walk on the left - this is marked on some local maps as Fairy Glen car park. From the parking area walk up the road and take the turning on the left down a track past the Woodland Trust sign. Soon there is an information board with a map. Keep following the track and bear right at the junction.

2. The path passes through a lovely area of native woodland which includes some old Scots pine trees as well as junipers, oaks and aspens. Pass a bench overlooking the burn below and soon glimpses of the crags to the right can be seen through the trees.

3. Keep on the main track when a path leaves to the left. Soon afterwards the path runs along the shore of Loch Migdale. There are a couple of spots where you can get down to the waters edge.

4. Keep following the path which eventually passes an information board and then reaches the small parking area at the road. Either return by the same outward route or it is possible to follow the road by turning left and then keeping right at the next two junctions. Although the road is fairly quiet this is a couple of kilometres further.
