1. There is a small car park opposite the houses in Leacanashie. From here, follow the footpath signposted into the forest. It climbs quite steeply through the trees, deciduous at first but soon giving way to conifers, to reach a forest track. Turn left along the track, and after a short distance, turn right onto a path by a stone cairn.
2. The path climbs up to a pass high in the forest, with views to the Applecross mountains. Continue along the path, which now becomes boggy and heads downhill, with rocky outcrops in places. Soon it reaches a junction with a track; turn left here, signed for Reraig and Ardaneaskan. The track soon ends; continue on the path straight ahead, which continues downhill, coming alongside a fence. When you reach a gate, go through it.
3. Cross the attractive but soggy pasture down to the track. Turn left; the track runs close to the shore of Loch Reraig, a sheltered bay. Ignore the turning on the right that leads to a cottage, and instead follow the track as it climbs a little. Keep straight on through the water works area to the first houses of Ardaneaskan seen ahead.
4. Ardaneaskan is an attractive group of houses clustered along the loch shore, with an outlook to Plockton. The track soon reaches the road; turn left along it through the little village. The road continues through the forest to return to Leacanashie.
