Originally built in 1850 as a traditional thatched 'blackhouse', then tastefully refurbished, Caolas Beag retains much of its original charm, with low ceilings, a multi-fuel stove, exposed rafters and solid stone walls. The village of Poolewe is set amongst some of the most magnificent scenery in Britain. It is a good base to get around by car, from the Beinn Eighe Nature Reserve to the old fishing village of Ullapool, or by foot with many good walks and climbs. Several sandy beaches, fishing, golf, putting and boat trips are all close by. There are two hotels where meals are available and, not to forget, the famous Inverewe Gardens with self-service restaurant.

"Slioch" and "Beinn Eighe" are semi-detached bungalows which are mirror images of one another. The plan shown to the right is of "Slioch". Each bungalow is comfortably furnished and equipped for a party of four. They have been awarded a Scottish Tourist Board 3-Star rating, and provide the feeling of "a home away from home". Our visitors return again and again.

The cottages are set back from the road surrounded by fields in which sheep graze. They have uninterrupted views of the majestic mountains rising above, yet are in the centre of the village of Kinlochewe. Each cottage has a lounge, kitchen, bathroom (with bath and separate electric shower), double bedroom, and twin bedroom.

There is an undercover heated swimming pool (May – Oct) and the friendly welcoming bar situated in the main building is the ‘local’ for the village and offers a great place to unwind after the day’s activities. The apartments are comfortable and welcoming and sleep between 2 and 8.
