Rhue Lighthouse no. 1

1. From the car park at the end of the public road in Rhue take the path heading down towards the coast. Go through a wooden kissing gate and follow the grassy path, which can be boggy in places.

Rhue Lighthouse no. 2

2. The path skirts the coast, passing above a nice pebbly beach on Loch Broom. The path crosses a small stream and undulates as it heads towards the lighthouse visible against the sea behind. The lighthouse provides a good vantage point looking up Loch Broom towards Ullapool or seawards towards the Summer Isles. The shapely mountain of Beinn Ghobhlach is directly across Loch Broom whilst Ben More Coigach forms an impressive wall to the north. It is possible to walk a short distance north west along the coast for some different views.

Rhue Lighthouse no. 3

3. The return route is by the same outward path. A longer walk can be made by walking (or driving) back along the Rhue road to the point where the track descends from the mast at the top of Meall Mor. The walk up to the mast takes approximately 40 minutes and provides a fine viewpoint on a good day.
