Carn Mor Dearg

Walked from the North Face car park at Torlundy. A steady climed up the North West shoulder to reach a series of small cairns and tops all the way till we reached the summit. A grand walk that now uses a new forest trail from the car park, we had lunch at one of the picnic tables that dot the forest...

Walked this with my Dad and Gillon, we spent more time eating than walking. We sweet potato soup on the way up and mince and tatties on the way down. All in all a good walk with the weather being better than forecast

Beinn Dearg

Left by mountain bike from Calvine and followed the landrover tracks to Bruar Lodge. From Bruar Lodge we left the bikes headed up Allt Beinn Losgarnaich to walk right round the back of Beinn Dearg to start our ascent up the North East side. This is quite a long way round and you get the feeling that...

The monadhliath hills

:( wet, long and very very boggy. That about sums up this walk for me, add the fact we had pretty poor visibility it is fair to say it wont make my top ten. I did enjoy staying the night in the newtonmore hostel mind you. :D

Started at the Dalmunzie Hotel car park and headed up Glen Lochsie, the landrover track starts at Glenlochsie farm and leads all the way to the summit. From the summit down to Gleann Mor stalkers track is the only section of this walk where careful navigation could be neaded but as we had clear blue...

GLEN SHIEL RIDGE

This was a long planned trip to walk the South Glen Shiell ridge that was brought to an abrubt ending by the weather. We had camped overnight at the Morvich campsite and drove down to Clunie Inn at about 9:00am. The winds were gusting at the bottom and the rain was a constant drizzle. The real probl...

Re: Glas Tulaichean, Carn an Righ and Beinn Iutharn Mhor

Hi Clach Liath, a great report. I was looking at walking in this area at the weekend and was wondering how suitable and how far I could take the mountain bike up from Spittle of glenshee. I had originally planned on catching a few munros from Inverey but heading from Spittle of Glenshee would mean l...

Glencoe

After having a failed attempt at these two munro's in January due to heavy snow and high winds I was looking forward to bagging them with my son Andrew on clear and sunny saturday morning in May. We headed up the Coire nan Lochan and got caught in a downpour half way up :( . The path up is clear but...

ben vane

Parked our car opposite the power stationd and walked up the main road where we picked up the track that leads into the glen. The lead in walk is quite short and in no time we were a the bottom of Ben Vane. The ascent is quite steep and the path is eroded in a lot of places but we still made good ti...
