Re: Revisiting an old friend (The Rob Roy Way)

Fantastic report, well done. Do you think it’s possible to walk from Killin to Kenmore in a day or would it be a struggle ?
I’ve done parts of the walk - Callander to Killin and Aberfeldy to Pitlochry but looking to do the full walk in September.

Re: The 'Frog' Roy Way - A 6-day solo hike

Have read all the reports and they are excellent but yours is the most recent - I walked from Aberfeldy to Pitlochry in the summer and couldn’t understand for the life of me why that section was so overgrown alongside the river en route to Grandtully. I literally didn’t think there was a path and t...

Re: West Highland Way September 2018

Hi that was unlucky - I’ve done the WHW loads of times and find its best to do it in March/April before the hordes arrive. You beat the midges too!!! The sections you’ve missed are quite strenuous if you don’t like going DOWNHILL!!! Though the uphill stretches are magnificent I find the descent into...

Re: Rob Roy Way - The Long Route

Excellent report - well done.
I’ve never heard of being attacked by a grouse before - I’ll keep that in mind what to do if the situation ever occurs - put my rucksack to my front!!

Re: Southern Upland Way - Beattock to St. Mary's loch

I doe the whole walk in 1998, took 12 days, started in June for the extended daylight. Without doubt it is truly memorable and a fantastic feeling crossing the finishing line at Cockburnspath. Wish you the best of luck

Re: Great Glen Way April 2013 - In 4 Days

A great read and insight, was thinking of doing this after the WHW and seems doable if you're carrying a tent etc, I'm booked into accom on the WHW but was going to get pack/tent delivered so I was "fresh" to go straight onto GGW, booked for April 2017.
