Re: Garbh Bheinn (Loch Leven), a mighty fine climb! :) :) :

Enjoyed reading your report so much Bod, for both your Garbh Bheinn, (which I climbed on a fine day in October 2019) and campervan adventures. We were parked up not that far from you on Friday evening at the Victoria Bridge car park in our campervan which my husband lovingly converted over the past ...

Re: Adventures in Knoydart

Really enjoyed your report but felt every bit of your pain suffered as we did Ladhar Bheinn in early April and your report and photos took me right back to that day. The weather closed in as we reached the Mam Suidheig so the disappointment of no views at all didn't help the toughness of the day. I ...

Re: Tour du Mont Blanc pt 3

We have recently returned from completing the TMB and I found your 3 reports to be very interesting and helpful in the run up to our trip Paul.....I read and reread them avidly and on the trail would refer to them in the evenings! It was a holiday that had been bubbling away in the background for so...

Re: A scorcher on Rois-bheinn and co

We did this round on Monday while spending a few days in the Arisaig area and what a day. While puffing and panting up towards Druim Fiaclach the tops were clear but by Sgurr na Ba Glaise, it had clouded over and by Rois Bheinn we were totally in the clag. However the weather gods rewarded our toil ...

Re: A touch of frost

Enjoyed very much reading your post on Beinn a 'Ghlo as we climbed it in early October and had a brilliant hill day. Your photos reminded me of the amazing views of the route ahead, then as you make your way along, looking back at the route from a different perspective. We were sitting close to the ...

Re: Hills which don't make the sacred 'lists'- an appreciati

The top of Shelterstone Crag in the Cairngorms gets my vote, and isn't on any list that I can see. Sgurr na Eanchannie above Ardgour is probably a Graham top, but it is better than the attached Graham. The following are also probably humps or bumps or lumps of some list or other, but not on the mos...

Re: Found: ladies blue Rab jacket

Hi Dave I think its my jacket you found on the path down from Sgorr Dhonuill. We had come over Sgorr Dhearg and originally intended to leave our packs in the col and go up Sgorr Dhonuill, then back to the col before descending down into Gleann a Chaolais. However we got chatting to a group in the co...

Beinn Ime

First day out on hills for a while due to back problems. Forecast wasn't great so headed for Beinn Ime rather than north. Decided on doing it from Butterbridge so left car at 9 and lousy weather from start which just got worse as we went higher. Wet, misty, windy so constantly checking route as path...

Beinn Talaidh & Sgurr Dearg

New machine arriving on Mull today so took chance of going over to do Beinn Talaidh after poor weather put paid to last attempt. Would make my mind up if I would do Beinn Dearg as well once I reached top of Beinn Talaidh. Steep, steep, to top but fantastic views all round - Cuillins, Rum, Jura, Mid-...

MCofS Navigation Course

Hi For anyone debating about going on a navigation course, I would like to say, if you can go on one organised by Mountaineering Council of Scotland. I know they book up very quickly, but keep an eye on WH website for upcoming courses, as this is where I learnt of them. We went on the one day course...

Re: Big Stretch up Ben Macdui

Enjoyed your photos as we were on Ben Macdui and across to Cairngorm the day before you on Friday, and couldn't see anything. It was very windy so had to keep well back from the edge when passing the crags, so especially liked these photos as we could see what we had missed
