Re: Too feart to continue after Sgurr na Feartaig
This is one of the most brilliant exchanges among hillwalkers that I have ever read!...and gives me hope for mankind! Takes me straight back to evenings sharing hill stories in hostels after days out in our glorious Highlands.

Re: not quite a walk to Glomach Falls
It is certainly not easy to see much of the Falls safely. I had a great day there, though, taking in the nearby Graham of Carnan Cruithneachd. Not an easy one to say but a great, rough hill with spectacular views all round. It made the circuit to the falls even more interesting and made a good circu...

Re: taking the dog for a walk in the park
Lovely and touching post! What a fabulous wee spaniel she is, captured in such an amazing mountain setting. Your pictures brought tears to my eyes also as it took me back to a brilliant day I had on exactly the same route some years ago with my cocker, Struan. Oh what these hills and these dogs mean...

Re: A quick one - South of Glen Affric
Good report from what seems like a fine walk in a beautiful, remote area - judging by the pictures. I checked for walks in the location after watching a really interesting documentary about the amazing Pocock family and their croft at Cougie. Glad to have found this and can't wait to get up there (p...

Re: The Brutal Bagging of Blath Bhalg
Hi, I had a similar experience last week on Blath Bhalg. Near on double the time it should have due to deep snow and "breakable crust". I agree, though, that these weeish hills are just the job for the superb but somewhat challenging difficult winter conditions we have had through March an...

Re: It’s a long long way to Beinn Eighe (but that’s okay)
Lenore, it was once again a complete and utter pleasure to read one of your reports! It is wonderful that you have engaged with Scotland so well. I also rate Torridon as one of my favourite Highland areas and you have whetted my appetite for a return there sooner rather than later. Your enthusiasm, ...

Re: Silver's not good enough for this fortunate Corbett
Lovely to see your report, Lenore! I certainly agree with your comments, having climbed the hill, as you know, just a few days before your ascent. Some good pictures there - combination of your photographic skills and a photogenic area, I reckon.Hope the rest of your tour was as good.

Re: Strathfarrar, 4 Munros, 1 inept MWIS forecast
Looked like stratus - low(ish) cloud - coming and going, more than anything dealing out rain or snow. Made for a frustrating time, no doubt, but this kind of cloud cover can form or dissipate in a flash and is devilishly difficult to forecast. Given it was the middle of January, it didn't appear too...

Eagles on Skye: 5 and 6 May 2012
Hi, My best ever view of a White-tailed (Sea) Eagle at close quarters! This was on a beautiful Saturday, while walking south along the west coast of the Minginish peninsula, about 2km from Talisker Bay. It was a fully grown but juvenile bird, could not see the tag. However, the bird flew past me sev...
