Enjoy, great circuit.
Long way back from Broad cairn- but enjoyable

Haha simple! I just know some places say no overnight parking so hopefully not there.

Overnight parking at Spittal of Glenmuick?

Hi folks, I'm looking to do the Lochnagar circuit of five Munros and was wondering if anyone knew about overnight parking there? No time to do the drive up and complete the hills in one day since it's so dark early on so was going to kip in the car before starting off early morning. Any thoughts wou...

Where is the snow?

Hello everyone! I'm looking to go out on the hills tomorrow in the hope of catching some snowy conditions but it doesn't look like there is a lot around after the rains. :( I was up at Benvane near Callander last week and it was only patches. Looking at the Cairngorms webcams they don't have a lot a...

Re: Snow

hrrmmmph - if the snow's as deep and soft as last winter you'd be better off with snowshoes than axe/crampons  I was lucky enough to get a scorcher of a winters day up Beinn a' Bheithir at the start of this year where crampons were very much needed. But other than that, as you say, snow shoes...

Re: Midges yet again!

They don't usually bother me but last Sunday at Glen Etive I was being eaten alive by the time I got back to the car. Really really irritating! :-x

Re: chairlift, cheating?

A completion of all the Munros, starting and ending your walk in the sea (or sea loch). You must start and end each trip by having your boots in the sea. You're only allowed to climb one Munro at a time before returning to sea level. Meaning no adjoining Munros, even if you cross them to get to you...

Re: chairlift, cheating?

Probably is Schiehallion as it's supposed to be the centre of Scotland isn't it?

You'd be mad to even pretend to think about trying something like this. I'll stick to the old fashioned method we all do right now.

Re: Snow

Yeah definitely. Crampons on, ice axe in hand with some blue sky over my head and I could walk forever! :)

Re: A Battering at Bridge of Orchy

Oops, missed that you’d alread done Beinn Dorain and Beinn an Dothaidh. Didn’t mean to boast. And it was tough. To answer your question: the walk in and out from and to Bridge of Orchy is much shorter. Started with Beinn Dorain, then Beinn Mhanach, Beinn a’ Chreachain, Beinn Achaladai...

Re: Snow

Summer is gone! Bring on the snow!! :D

I think I prefer being out on a crisp clear winters day up to my waist in snow than a hot summers day anyway. Some of my best days in the hills have been like that.

Re: chairlift, cheating?

I personally wouldn't count it if I got the chairlift as it wouldn't feel right to me but everyone has their own opinion and reasons for doing so. I wouldn't start an argument about it with someone because I use my bike on the hills quite often which some people may frown upon. I see it as being sel...
