Great Whernside from Middlesmoor

Warm and sunny start. Brief showers on summit. Parking at Scar House closed. My route across Riggs Moor to the shooting hut cut two sides off the triangle, but is for times when I am fitter.

Stopped on the way from Skipton site. Dry and partly sunny. Grouse chicks all over the place.
Tried to follow the route of the roman road but there is no path and the going is rough.

Carneddau revisited

Early rise to get to LLyn Ogwen before the parking was taken. The promised sun failed to appear and clouds obscured the view on Carnedd Llewelyn but it stayed dry and the cool made the climbing easier.
