Re: Kayaks!!

Get on the phone to a respectable shop (the ones in the Lakes are good) and talk to them for a while. They'll be able to help you as I don't know much about Sit ontops.

Enjoy once you pick one :D

Re: Close Calls on the Hills

So far I have been lucky enough to avoid any major epics while out in the hills or on the crags. The one close call I did have was this winter while out climbing a new route on one of the N facing crags on Skye. We were two pitches up the route when my partner had to bail off the third crux pitch ba...

Re: Controversial Confessions

You'll all hate me. :( 1. The Inn Pinn is infamous due to 'wobbly at height' hill walkers, although it's the easiest of the climbing grades. 2. I hate when people stuff rubbish into cairns. 3. Any girls on the hill between 18 and 25 are fair game for a bit of gawping. 4. People that do 45mph through...

Re: ice axe on rucksack

You quickly get quite comfy having it between your rucksack and back, doesn't bother me in the slightest even with a heavy pack for climbing.
Although if you fall and twist you can end up being spiked in the back near your hip.
Totally not talking from experience

Re: Avalanche Forecast

They have basically just bought the kit and gone out and used it, oblivious to any danger. They have come from summer cragging backgrounds so once they are on the rock they're a bit safer but they don't have hill skills. For the students the clubs I know they usually nominate an "experienced&qu...
