Re: An Socach - current state of Baddoch Burn crossings

Update: Walked up yesterday. Bridge now complete. Followed path to end in perfect winter conditions before returning back via Socach Mor. Great winter option. Thanks for the update guys, perfect timing as I intend doing this one on Friday and didn't fancy the rickety bridge. I'm happy now that the ...

Re: Meall Glas and Sgiath Chui using a bike

Hi Msp1987 I can only tell you I climbed these two on Wednesday 30 September in glorious weather, I walked in from the Glen Lochay side and parked just before Kenknock farm. The track all the way to the other side of the ford would be perfect for a bike and would save around 1 hour in total, There w...

Re: Ben Cruachan & Stob Diamh - Hollow Mountain ridge

Good report Denfinella and great Photos, I did these two on the Wednesday after you and although we got occasional views we also got heavy showers, isn't that stile at a strange angle as you said it definitely required some focus, a great couple of hills though and I'm looking forward to doing the o...

(Non members welcome but bring the midge repellent). Also Invercoe camp site which is in Glencoe Vi...

Re: Skye - May Bank Holiday w/e

Hi I am heading to Skye with my walking club, West Lothian Mountaineering at the minute we are planning to camp at Sligachan but might yet go to Glenbrittle. There should be about 6 of us probably doing different hills/walks, if we are going to Glenbrittle I will give you a shout. Have a great weekend

Re: Rucksack

Check out the Lidle website on Monday 17 June they are selling a 70L rucksack which looks a good bit of kit and at £27.99 I reckon you can't go wrong. I have no association with Lidle stores it just seemed a good buy.

Re: Advice on Kinlochleven/Glencoe walks

Suggest Buachaille Etive Beag would also suit you and the Munros in Glen Etive such as Ben Starav and surrounding hills are a good days outing. Remember the Skin So Soft for the midges.

Three Fannaichs

It was a clear, crisp, sunny day with wall to wall blue. It looked set to be a cracker. We set off from the edge of Loch A’ Bhraoin on a nice flat trail, and with a gentle incline for the first 3 Km, we could take in the winter wonderland on the snow covered peaks, highlighted dramatically against t...

Six of us left the car park at Invervar at 0915 all kitted up with ice axe and crampons, some cloud threatened but spirits were high. we first conquered Carn Gorm Meall Garbh Cairn Mairg then Meall nan Aighean. There was snow on the higher ground but no need for crampons or axe as there were plenty ...

Re: A perfect day on Beinn a Bheithir - Video

Great report with fantastic photos and video, you obviously know what you are doing with a camera.
I have these two pencilled in for doing this year possibly in the spring.
Saturday was a great day for walking but I only got as far as the Pentland Hills near Edinburgh but I still enjoyed the walk.
