Re: Arran Coastal Way Alteration

Walked this section today. Please note that there is a small section between Kingcross point and Cordon that is impassable around high tide. not passable 2 hours after high tide when I was there today. Gave up waiting and walked back and up along the road to Lamlash. After some addition research it ...

Re: Moorfoot hills advice

If this https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/lothian/blackhope-scar.shtml is in your bucket list, then you are really scraping the bottom of the bucket! Blackhope Scar is a horrible soggy mess, and the wind farm is ugly. Dundreich is marginally nicer, but there are lots of much better walks in the easte...

Moorfoot hills advice

I am trying to plan my walking week away in the Borders and have the Moorfoot circuit on WH on my bucket list. However, from reading the walk description and walk reports it seems that there are locked gates and barbed wire fences to cross? Have I picked up on this right? I can handle barbed wire fe...

Re: A little hill with a hellish path. Albie hated it!

We were up here last week and the path is well eroded further up. My dog hated the path too, at least there weren’t any cows! This was our third attempt as we’ve been held off by the cows.

Re: FORUM MAINTENANCE COMPLETE - 27th SEPTEMBER

There’s a different map now for the various walk maps. No longer OS maps :( was this planned or is it just a glitch?

Re: Thoughts for first Munro for a six year old

Might be worth considering Ben Venue which has varying terrain and some scramble bits at the top.

Mochrum Fell, a pleasant surprise

$matches[2] Mochrum Fell. A small but uninspiring Sub 2000. Covered in forestry and a hill I have avoided going up...with forest bashing and boggy ground included as well. Yup... Its definitely been one I have been avoiding for quite a while. As I am now nearing having done the D&G Subs I had t...

Just dropped past Kerloch. Cows are oot :( met a guy coming down who said they were on the path further up. So we turned and walked away. Did Hill of Fare instead :)

Kerloch - any cows?

I’m heading up to Aberdeenshire tomorrow and am hoping to do Kerloch on my way up.

I’ve picked up the fact that there have been issues with cows in the past and am wondering if anyone can give me an update to whether they are still around/on the path please :)

Cheers
