Re: Helvellyn via Striding Edge & St Sunday Crag

Great report & photos !

I was in the Ullswater area at the weekend, though had to settle for the more modest Grisedale & Hayeswater reservoir, so will have to settle for great reports like this & ' the Julia Bradbury programmes ' ( in no particular order ).

Re: High Street Therapy

Great report - and report title ! I was down in the Lake District at the weekend, and endeavouring to avoid being too much of a couch potato with Sunday's major sporting event, meant to make it up to the fantastically named ' High Street ' from Hartsop; but only made it as far as Hayeswater reservoi...

Re: Conival, Andy Murray and a day of Some Confusion

Great report ! In a similar endeavor to avoid being too much of a ' couch potato ', I was walking in the Lake District. I had endeavoured to walk up to the fantastically - named ' High Street ' in the Eastern Lakes, but only made it as far as the Hayeswater Reservoir, when the very warm weather and ...

Re: Schiehallion with my daughter (aged 3)

Congratulations.

My view of the boulder fields was probably too rude for your daughter, and indeed you !

Re: High Street Therapy

Thanks very much for the report & photos.

I'm heading down to Ullswater shortly, though my walks mightn't be so extensive !

Re: Ben Chonzzzzzzzzzie

I think, like yourself, Ben Chonzzzzzie doesn't often get a fair call, to which your great photos adequately testify. I have a theory that this has a lot to do with snobbery, in that it is relatively close to major centres of population, and people like to boast about having been to relatively far a...

Re: Cruising into double figures on Mayer & Driesh

Great report & photos, thanks for posting !

I've had a long held ambition to conquer Mayar & Dreish, not least because compared with many Munros, they seem to have such unflattering names.

Re: Jubilee Sunday – Aonachs / CMD / Ben Nevis

Quite an undertaking. Nice photos !

On a more modest level, it reminds me of a friend going for a walk in the Malvern Hills to escape the hype surrounding Charles & Diana's wedding, only to find that they were mobbed by loads of other people with the same idea !!

Re: Ben Lomond - 92 Walkers & 2 dogs!

Congratulations on your first Munro.

This was my first Munro too, but I made harder work of it than you ! It was a very sunny day, and I kept stopping to savour the views, which doesn't do much for the rhythm !!

Re: Gael Charn...a cracker of a day for my 2nd munro

Do the Cairnwell trio, by Glenshee - good for bumping up the numbers !

The car park is at 2,200ft, so it's a case of ' buy one, get two free '.

Re: Tinto Hill

Congratulations ! You should do it in better weather when it's quite chastening to have kids & dogs scampering past you, as happened to me !

Re: two MAYAR for me

Very cute report title.

Certainly near the top of my ' to do ' list - though I'll wait for a less challenging time of year.

Re: Schiehallion

Tough walk !

I found the boulder field challenging enough on a nice day in April.
