Second and more rounds

I hope this is a suitable place to post this. How do people go about recording second rounds? We have a reluctance to delete our Wainwrights which took fifty years to collect in order to piece together a second round on WH. The problem will be even more acute on compleation, which we hope will not b...

Re: Sgurr na Ciche three - route in query

Thanks very much Fraser, I'm left wondering then, how the vehicles got to the west end of the loch.

Some casing of the joint prior to an attempt will have to be done.

Re: Sgurr na Ciche three - route in query

Thanks very much prog99, that's exactly the route I meant. How recently have you been that way? From the number of vehicles at the west end of the loch I wondered whether a track had been bulldozed recently. We canoed from NG993034 last year to climb Sg Mor from NM953993, but I only just managed to ...

Sgurr na Ciche three - route in query

Ascending Sgurr Mor last year we noticed vehicles at the West end of Loch Quoich/Cuaich. A helicopter landed there during the course of the day. Question is, looking at OS explorer 398 there is a track marked from the very Northern edge of NG9600 just to the South of where Gleann Cosaidh meets Loch ...

Re: A "glorious" day in Glen Feshie

The moth looks like a female Northern, or Oak, Eggar in case you'd not identified it.

A nice find.

Re: Beinn Fhada via the Sgurr a Choire Ghairbh ridge

A fabulous mountain. To continue along the ridge to Beinn Buidhe is eminently possible. The ridge may require four-point contact in some places. If you're worried by the prospect of a scramble choose a day with plenty of hours daylight and be prepared to reverse to join your ascent route. My wife sa...

Re: Fionn Bheinn and the Maiden Voyage

Next up - Sgurr Mhor - crossing Loch Chuaich to do it. An hour and a bit paddling. We used an open canoe and had a second summit in mind but it was very hot and we failed to take enough water. Two paddles would seem a good idea - I'm sure you've worked that out. Perhaps better if they're feathered -...
