Guide for Skye late May 2022

Hi All, I am on a fund raising project to climb all the Munros whilst raising funds for SSAFA, our Armed Forces charity. I know this is a big ask but are there any experienced guides who would be available to help me FOC (Free of Charge), on Skye starting May 23rd for a week. I have little experienc...

Re: What3words

As for Overloaded's original question, if such a list were compiled, I imagine it would be the first one in which all the Munros had 100% English names. Cultural implications here, perhaps! (Please don't take this comment too seriously.) Perhaps there should be two what3word lists then, one in Engl...

Re: What3words

More generally regarding this Topic. So to get the three words to use this system I looks like? that you have to obtain a Grid Reference to access this way to communicate. The only way to receive the three magic words? I am right on this, if so, I don't quite see the point of this way to get a posi...

Re: What3words

Thank you all. I just feel that the more ways of pinpointing exactly where you are gives everyone a greater sense of comfort. I realise there are times when it can fail but this is not always the case. There was an incident last year where the location of some poorly equipped climbers, with little e...

Re: How did you stay fit during lockdown?

I live close to countryside in the South of England and I have been fortunate in being able to get out almost everyday. Last year I mostly walked around 5-6 miles a day and this year I have increased that to 8-9 miles a day. Also this year started core strength exercises and a few with weights. Chan...

Re: What3words

Thank you for replying all of you and I fully respect your responses but it does not answer my question.

Re: Looking for Munro buddy(s) summer/autumn 2021

Hi, I live in the South of England and will be starting early June to raise funds for SSAFA. I will from time to time be looking for companions to walk/climb with me. I have some partners already booked and I am waiting for a few more. Not sure which dates as yet but would be happy to accompany you ...

Distance

A quick but probably silly question,
On each walk description page there is a distance stated. Is that the overall distance from start point to summit and return or just from start point to summit please?

Re: Spelling

Many thanks Paul. The copy was given to me a couple of years ago and I have found it extremely useful. Thank you both. Unless there is some major changes then I will stick with that. I have printed off the routes from this site to take with me on each walk. I will use the website versions for the pu...

Spelling

Hi Admin, I know this is pedantic but I have been comparing the names of the Munros on this site to the Paul & Helen Webster book and I have found some discrepancies. Please can you advise which are the correct spellings as I am looking to climb for charity and want to post pics on public media ...
