Ben Vorlich (Lochearnhead) Weather

We are thinking of bagging Ben Vorlich this weekend, but due to winter low levels of fitness, don't think we'll manage Stuc a Chroin too. Any ideas on how long we should allow, and what the weather's like at the moment? Forecast looks good, but we don't want to risk it if there's lots of snow. Thanks

Re: etrek-h additional kit needed?

Thanks everyone - and for the original thread.

Found the USB cable on e-bay and ordered it too. So if I'm right, it's just a case of plugging in and using Quo or google maps etc?

etrek-h additional kit needed?

Hi there I've just ordered the etrek h as most reviews say that it seems to be basic, but adequate. I can't quite work out if there are any other cables/software etc that I will need to get it up and running. I can wait until it arrives, but as it's a gift, I just wanted to plan ahead if there were ...

Re: Suggestions around Crianlarich

Thanks all. Think we will go for An Caisteal and Benn a Chroin. Is the route on here the best/easiest? Either that or Ben More & Stob Binnen, but reports of steep climbs are a tad off putting for our first outing of the year.

Suggestions around Crianlarich

Hi

We are planning our first 2010 Munros in a few weeks and planning on staying around Crianlarich. Any suggestions on a couple of easy-ish Munros that we can do in one go?

Many thanks in advance.

Re: Kintail Advice

Kintail Advice

We're planning a trip next weekend, staying at Glenmoriston. We'd ideally like to tick off at least a couple or three more Munros, but have had a quiet summer, so nothing too lengthy/strenuous or risky if the weather isn't great? We'll also only have one car. Just looking for ideas/inspiration....

Re: Aspergers syndrome and Munro Bagging

..Sorry - I forgot another couple of components.....being able to have time alone with your thoughts, at the same time as spending time with family/friends/loved ones you are walking with....and the camaraderie of meeting fellow walkers. I feel a list of "top 10 reasons to enjoy Munro bagging &...

Re: Aspergers syndrome and Munro Bagging

I think it's the combination of list ticking, the fabulous scenery, sense of achievement and the obligatory pint of shandy. All critical factors that could perhaps be summarised under another yet to be defined label (that absolutely doesn't offend any one with a diagnosed medical issue). Are we just...

Re: Aspergers syndrome and Munro Bagging

I absolutely get the connection with a sense of achievement, ticking items off a list etc. Am unsure of the connection to sex though???!!! Is it me??!! Is there some research I haven't heard of??!!

Looking for inspiration

It's been a couple of months since we've climbed any Munros and despite the research online and in the books, we're really looking for a little bit of divine inspiration this weekend...for that, translate that we are unable to make a decision! We want to do a fairly steady climb - nothing too strenu...

Ben Lomond Route advice

We're planning on tackling Ben Lomond tomorrow and just wondered if descending on the Ptarmigan route is a better option than retracing our steps as the route map suggests? Any advice is much appreciated.

Hello....We're new here!

Hi all, We (husband, wife and generally well behaved beagle pup) have used the site many times to download walks in the highlands. We took the Munro plunge this weekend and managed Beinn Ghlas and Ben Lawers and have now just registered on here. No doubt we looked like amateurs, and our aching limbs...
