Re: Munro Bagged

Congratulations from another (fairly) recent Munro starter  There are so many fantastic hills out there and the Outdoor Access Code makes it all the more worthwhile - Scotland truly is the world's #1 here. The only thing that protects me from becoming a full-on Munro bagger is that I always ha...

At the time, I reversed the WH route, working hard to get up Geal Charn but finding the descent from the plateau (which normally is the ascent) quite agree...

Leacanashie - stormy day retreat

Pleasant retreat from the wind on a stormy day, with many parts quite sheltered but also a few places being a wind channel. http://cdn.ipernity.com/200/95/96/47509596.1dd32dc1.500.jpg Everyone sheltering from the storm by Thomas http://cdn.ipernity.com/200/95/98/47509598.51fc6e57.500.jpg Loch Carron...

Allt a Chonais Pinewood: forestry works, no access

http://cdn.ipernity.com/200/17/66/47481766.43e0e508.500.jpg?r2 When the clouds are really low and everything is boggy after days of torrential rain, this short track to stretch your legs is a nice stroll. It would be even better if there weren't forestry works ongoing with signs banning you from ac...

Beinn Alligin - my first proper Torridon hill

Torridon - even among new walkers the name conjures up awe and expectation of something special. These expectations weren't disappointed :D I had to stay in the area for quite some time to find a day with high-level visibility and winds that were low enough to tackle one of the great Torridon Three....

Bynack More - finally the sun

They call me the wind-catcher. Even if the forecast says the wind is going to ease, as soon as the wind sees me approaching the foot of a hill it will show what it can do. So two birds killed with one stone: the forecast motivated me to finally pay a visit to Bynack More, and the strong wind pushed ...
