Re: Càrn Aosda to Càrn a' Gheòidh

Perfect, thanks all!

Got Schiehallion in July too so, no doubt, I will be back asking questions about that one too.

Re: Càrn Aosda to Càrn a' Gheòidh

Thanks Dave, I didn’t really consider doing them from the Cairnwell first. Did you use the conventional path for that or did you go up the chairlift/ski tow?

Re: Càrn Aosda to Càrn a' Gheòidh

I’ve seen quite a few people say that they saved a bit of time walking directly off The Cairnwell, actually.

Re: Càrn Aosda to Càrn a' Gheòidh

Thanks all.

I think we should manage, might just have to leave earlier to make sure, I think!

Re: Càrn Aosda to Càrn a' Gheòidh

Hi Jamie, Walkhighlands route description reckons it takes 5 to 6 hours for the three Munros from the Cairnwell Pass. From what I remember from when I did it, that time sounds about right. Maybe took me towards the shorter end of the estimate. Just Aosda and Cairnwell would be very quick. Hi, thank...

Càrn Aosda to Càrn a' Gheòidh

For anyone who has taken in Càrn a’ Gheòidh whilst doing The Cairnwell Munro’s, how long (roughly) does it take to walk from Càrn Aosda to Càrn a' Gheòidh? We have plans later in the day and trying to decide whether we have time to squeeze it into our trip. If not, we may just have to settle for Aos...

Re: The Quickest and Ugliest Munro's..

I really enjoyed that video! Thanks. What did you use to record with? Which drone do you have? I am thinking about doing these three next Friday with my son (His first 1st-3rd and my 3rd-5th, done Mayar and Dreish already) as part of the itinerary of a night a way we have booked in Ballater.

Re: The Cairnwell Trio

Did you walk down off the Cairnwell on the Ski tow?

I’d much prefer doing that than walking all the way back round to Aosda.

Re: The end of an epic summer - Hunt Hill

I did Loch Lee today, that hose is still derelict but the trees have been cut down. Some of the trees and stumps were charred and you could smell the burnt wood. No idea why.

Re: Bennachie - 11 Peaks Route

Hi all, First of all, thanks for all of the advice etc it’s been very helpful. I’m going to go for the Back O Bennachie car park then up to Oxen Craig, Craigshannoch & Mither Tap then skip down the Maiden Causeway banking to the right and see how long it takes the wife to twig where we are going...

Flipping Photo

Morning all,

I have just noticed that some of my photos are rotating round onto their sides when I add them into a Walk Report.

How do I stop this happening?
Does it automatically put the long edge along the bottom in regards to resolution?

Cheers,
Jamie

The Speyside Way - When does it become a family tradition?

For the last three years we have visited Cragganmore to do this section of The Speyside Way and stayed in a lovely B&B for the weekend. When is this considered a family tradition?? On the Friday we tend to get together and just relax with a few drinks and a nice three course meal at the B&B....
