Cnoc an t-Sabhail (West) circular

Had been planning to do An Cabr near Loch Fannich but it had rained all night at home and so probably snowed all night near Achnasheen (according to XC Weather) so decided to do another more eastern Marilyn. Had almost done Cnoc an t-Sabhail a couple of months ago when we had gone cycling along the ...

Cnoc Corr Guinie circular

Had originally been planning to do some munros today, but the weather wasn't too promising so decided to tick off a local Marilyn. As I like doing loops rather than up and downs, I looked at the OS map and apart from a short journey through the woods (more later) there seemed to be track most of the...

The western Fannichs without Tom!

First tried to do this walk back in 2008, but that day I had an older dog with me who was tired from doing Ben Wyvis the day before. It was only my third solo walk and I went slightly wrong going too far west along Loch Bhraoin. After battling around a deer fence, we ended up having lunch at Loch To...

Strathfarrar - A ridge too far - so 3 simple steps

Since moving to the Black Isle about a year ago, I have started using WH more and more. But every walk I've done has always been reported on in-depth so not really seen what I can add, here at last was an unusual approach to these hills so I thought I would contribute my first walk report. Again sin...

Re: Little Wyvis & Meall Ruighe an Fhirich

Hi
I went to walk Little Wyvis at the weekend and was wondering what is with the warning/shooting signs on the gates about asking for permission from the council and land owner. Is that just for access to the mast site or the whole hill?
Thanks

Beinn Dearg and Cona Mheall

Hi not sure if this is the correct forum to post this on but .... As the dog and I am getting older each day, I was thinking of splitting the Beinn Dearg 4 into two lots of two. I was wondering if anyone had gone up Cona Mheall through Coire Lair and up Creagan na Still to Loch Prille? If so what is...
