Re: Few questions?

We have a few 3 season bags but they are bulky, suppose I could try them out a few times in the garden prior to first wild camp and as you say add to them if them if needed

Re: Few questions?

Your tent is okay but a bit heavy at 3kg and you should avoid wind given it is spacious and has fibreglass (prone to shatter/break) poles. Nothing you need to urgently replace but if you really start getting into long camping hikes you can always ask for advice for an upgrade (plenty of affordable ...

Re: Few questions?

It's an oex raccoon 2, not the greatest but was on sale and appears to have more than enough space inside. The pe...

Re: Nevis conditions for weekend.

Ive found met office to be the most innacurate out of all the weather apps in regards to the hills, so far. Do you mean this https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/specialist-forecasts/mountain which is only available via the website and not the phone app? Ha, clearly I've been using the wrong app, d...

Re: Nevis conditions for weekend.

Mwis is normally what I check first but with it only doing 3 days in advance it's not ideal Met Office Mountain Forecast has a 5-day outlook in the text forecast (6 days in the auto-generated individual mountain forecasts), but it is fairly brief and, of course, subject to more error the further in...

Re: Nevis conditions for weekend.

Mwis is normally what I check first but with it only doing 3 days in advance it's not ideal as I'm looking to book into airbnb provided there is no announcements made before then. Will definitely choose an alternative if the weather is crap as they say hill aren't going anywhere.

Re: Nevis conditions for weekend.

Anyone know the weather for the weekend coming and conditions underfoot? I'm led to believe there is meant to be snow on Thursday, how much I don't know. The wife wants to take the kids up so looking to pick as pleasant a day as possible. Cold, wet and windy, so not a place or time for kids. You do...

Re: Gear for kids summer walking

Decathlon have some great stuff for kids, my son is on his second pair of boots from them, think they were under £30. Their jackets are generally very good value for money too. At that age I wouldn't buy them expensive stuff anyway as they grow out them too quick.

Os maps

Cancelled my os subscription app was buggy and kept crashing when using route tracker feature. The main draw was for printing off the leisure maps.

Does view ranger provide these when you sign up for the subscription if not is it possible to get them elsewhere?

Cheers
