Re: South Glen sheil ridge munros

I'd leave the bike at Cluanie and walk opposite direction. Doon hill all the way on the bike. Got to agree. The cycle uphill at the end of the walk wouldn't be pleasant. I left my bike at the Cluanie Inn recently for the Brothers thinking it was downhill all the way back but the first 3km is slight...

Re: Glen Feshie Parking

The closure seems to be the parking area at Allt Ruadh not the carpark at Achlean. If you want to climb both munros then Achlean would be a better start point anyway. Follow the WH route for Mullach Clach a Bhlair, then the tracks north to Carn Ban Mor and Sgor Gaoith and back down to Achlean.

Re: Glen Ey 5, or 3 then 2 next day ?

It depends how fit you are, I suppose. I did all 5 a few years ago but it was a long day : - cycled up Glen Ey to Altanour Lodge - up An Socach and down to Loch nan Eun - up and down Glas Tulaichean - up and down Carn an Righ - up and over Beinn Iutharn Mhor - up Carn Bhac - back down to Altnatour L...

Re: Splitting the Fisherfield 5 ...

Look at the walk reports for Fisherfields and check the ones which say 2 munros, and not 5. Most are from Poolewe and often have gpx routes.

Similarly, those saying 3 munros are often from Kinlochewe.

Re: Ben More and Stob Binnein from Inverlochlarig

I went up Stob Binnien and Ben More from Inverlochlarig a few years ago, so maybe not recent enough, then from Benmore farm last year. Of the two, I much prefer from Inverlochlarig. From the Crianlarich side it's a steep unrelenting slog whereas from Inverlochlarig it's a good ridge walk along to St...

Re: Parking at Inveruglas

Thanks Coop. Haven't used cash for so long. I'll need to look down the back of the couch before I go. 😁

Parking at Inveruglas

I planning a walk up Ben Vorlich (Loch Lomond) tomorrow but it's been a couple of years since I've parked at Inveruglas. So a couple of questions: 1. Is the Pay and Display cash only or can a card be used? 2. How busy does it get now. Thinking of arriving around 9.00am. Is it likely to be full by th...

Re: Gairich & Sgurr Mor

Have a look at Steven Fallon's blog for 9 April 2019 where he describes a cycle route along Glen Kingie to reach the col between Gairich and Sgurr an Fhuaran. This might answer your cycling question.

Re: Beinn a' Bhuird via Glen Quoich question

Went up Glen Quoich yesterday with my bike. The bypass is signposted as a temporary path pending construction of a new track above the washed out route. I ignored the sign and carried on. Where the track has been washed away there's still space to walk by the edge of the water. I pushed my bike but ...

Re: Which Munros are in the Cairngorms?

I originally set a target of all east of the A93. Then it became everything east of the A9. Then it was south of the Great Glen. Before long I realised I'd probably do them all. Only problem was the last ones were all a long way from Edinburgh and every trip was a 3 or 4 hour drive. So it would be s...

Re: Conditions on the South Glen Shiel Ridge

Walked the ridge in fantastic sunshine on Monday. Just a few patches of soft snow with most of the ridge clear. No need for iceaxe or crampons.
