Re: Cape Wrath and Parph, with a night at Kearvaig

Great walk report and some cracking photos. I'm off up that way in a couple of weeks time for the far North Western Corbetts and looking forward to it. I've struggled for stalking information for Cranstackie and Beinn Spionnaidh though - are they also part of the Reay Estate? Outdoor Access Scotland...

An Ruadh-stac

Today has provided irrefutable proof that the height of a mountain isn’t necessarily proportional to it’s quality. I have been on much higher mountains than An Ruadh-stac over the years but this Corbett is absolutely spectacular and one of the finest mountains in the land I reckon. I first came up h...

I wasn't 100% sure what they were so took the pic and had a look when I got back so didn't pick any - and from what I found they aren't quite fully ripe yet so I will nip back up and give them a try now I'm s...

Cloudberries

Not sure this qualifies as 'wildlife' but I found a rather large patch of Cloudberries on the Pentlands today - in 40 years of wandering hills they're the first I've seen in real life so I guess pretty rare!

Better method of updating Hills climbed???

Hello - I am new to this site so apologies if I am just being a bit daft and haven't figured out a quicker way of updating which hills I have climbed yet. They all seem to be catgorised according to regional areas - which is fair enough - BUT - the SMC guidebooks are all split into Munro/Corbett etc...

White tailed Eagle sighting

Just a wee note to tell of a sighting of this magnificent bird. We had climbed Sgurr Mor at the head of Glen Kingie on the rough bounds of Knoydart. Just descending with Sgurr na Ciche we saw the huge bird in the corrie working its way upwards on the thermals, once high enough it headed off over our...
