Re: Tyndrum 4

Excellent post that has helped me plan my ascent of these four Munros.

Re: 5 in the Clag Ben Lawers

Very helpful report as I plan to do the same route later this year. Your photo and description of the descent from An Stuc has relieved me of the only apprehension I had of the route. Not as bad as the books suggest!

Re: Beinn Chabhair is the worst

I did this walk a couple of weeks ago and I think it was even wetter and boggier than the day you ventured out. The waterfall was spectacular but then July 2015 was the wettest July since records began. Envious of the slow worms though. Remarkable.

Re: Singleton speed dating 1: Ben Chonzie

I plan to climb Ben Chonzie tomorrow - which will be my fourth consecutive bagging day. The Scots have it easy - so many hills on their doorstep.

Re: Gales, wilderness, bothies and a mad woman in the Cairng

We all need easy days from time to time. Trouble is living in Birmingham with so many miles to travel before the walking can start!

Re: Gales, wilderness, bothies and a mad woman in the Cairng

Dear Mountainlove I was planning to do a very similar route to yours this week but whilst descending Stob Coire Easiain on Friday, 15th August I heard from a fellow walker that the bridge at Derry Lodge had been washed away. I therefore decided to switch to the hills of Drumochter. Seems I was a lit...

Re: Could we be down to 282 Munros?

Having just completed the Fisherfield Six - 27 miles - nearly 3,000 metres of ascent - 21 hours 50 mins - wild camp in the col below Beinn Tarsuinn - I say whatever the decison is - it's still the most challenging round of Munros I'm ever likely to do.

Fisherfield Five just doesn't sound right to me.

Re: New Member from Birmingham

Hi skuk007 Thanks for the reply. I see you live in Bristol so you have even further to travel to Scotland. I was in Torridon this year too - staying in Kinlochewe. I managed to do all the nearby Munros and plenty of coastal walking as well. I see you've completed a lot of posts - will read them in d...

New Member from Birmingham

Hello from Birmingham. An ambitious Munro Bagger aged 54 who has an ambition to complete all 283 by the age of 65. Mostly solo walking but keen to meet up for the more remote mountains. Living in Birmingham and doing two jobs means I have to plan my trips to Scotland in advance. Anyone who likewise ...
