Re: Name that Loch!

Hi Caberfeidh.

It's not those.

Re: Sail Mhor (Somewhat Icy!)

Hi Malky. I did this one today and it was icy for me too. Like you, I clambered up a similar way, up a rock-strewn opening amongst the upper cliffs. The icy issues I had were down in the glen, when I was walking back out. The rocks in the river had some ice coverings but it was the grass on the path...

Re: Freshwater swimming

Thank you for your reply Caberfeidh. I'd wondered about Pike but I've just googled that and the general consensus is that a pike attack is highly unlikely. You're more likely to be bitten by a muskie. I'm wondering if the wetsuit might also be an extra layer of defense against a bite. I think my big...

Re: Need advice for doing the Cuillins

Thanks to the advice from many people on that thread that Weaselmaster has just mentioned - http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=41577&p=237300&hilit=cuillin#p237300 - I went and did 3 of them last May, with a friend. We started with Sgurr na Banachdich which was simp...

Gorging / Canyoning

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any locations anywhere near Aberdeen that I could possibly visit at some point in the distant future? I have never done this before so I imagine I would look in to doing it guided before considering doing it without a guide. I'm just curious if there are even many / ...

Freshwater swimming

Even though there are plenty of unsavoury elements to be found in the world's seas and oceans, I've never known anyone to be warned off from swimming in Scotland's coastal waters. I guess it might be that the salt content goes towards cutting down on some of the nasties, much like a natural substitu...

MHOF on Facebook

Marilyn Hall of Fame.

Does anyone know if Alan Dawson and co have anything on social media?

I would be interested to read about new members, Munro-completists. Hill promotions / demotions etc.

I reckon it would be quite fascinating.

Thank you.

Re: "New" Munro?

I heard Glas Leathad Beag of Ben Wyvis might get promoted to a Munro.
It would make sense to me.
