Re: Over the Sea to Raasay

Great conditions and a nice set of photos as usual  Have often thought of popping over here but haven't yet got round to it - maybe some time. :)

Re: Back to Glen Esk

That looked a great leg stretcher. The tracks reminded me a lot of the hill tracks to Mount Battock which I've cycled/walked - had a look at the map to trace your route and it's just along the road a bit so makes sense. Good to see you're happy with your boots too. :)

Re: Seeking the perfect Winters day on Ladhar Bheinn

That sounded tough going but a great result in the end. Hard enough here outwith winter but rather challenging in soft snow.👍

Re: Remote Grahams, Bothy Nights

I think so, yes. Essentially SMC Graham's route to MB then extend to AS. Finding a decent return route isn't obvious but your route via the sub2k does look practical. Avoids the drive along Loch Arkaig. Not yet decided and may change

Re: Remote Grahams, Bothy Nights

Enjoyed that with some very useful detail - thanks. Very timely as these two are in my plans although perhaps from the south rather than the east.

Re: Carn Dearg then repeat - Glen Roy

It also reminded me that I need to just get out sometimes and stop downgrading plans due to the weather - This year so far has seen a bit of a lack of motivation! Yup, I know what you mean  Have occasionally thought about taking up wild swimming (images of sunny lochs come to mind) until I se...

From the high point on the track to the summit is only about 0.5km. Going back down via White Knowes was less than 1km to the main track so hardly anything either way.

Blaeloch Hill

At long last I had a short time available which coincided with decent weather. Not sure about the fitness level so a quick jaunt up a fairly local sub 2k seemed ideal. In the end I probably broke my unwritten rule of time on the hill being greater than the journey time there/back - was up and down i...

Re: Ben Chonzie

Nice day for it albeit looked a tad chilly at the top  [size=150]The shortened stride length seemed to make a huge difference as I was able to complete the ascent without ever stopping to catch my breath but that could have been partly due to the easy gradient of the track up. Or maybe my s...
