Re: Glenshee Parking

Or, if you believe a different page on their site it's £5. https://www.ski-glenshee.co.uk/Parking-Facilities-at-Glenshee It's a few years since I parked there and I had no idea it was a paid car park, perhaps it wasn't then. Anyway for the East 6 I parked in the layby 2km North of the ski centre, as...

Re: Runnable Munros Near Lochcarron

Fionn Bheinn would be okay if hiking up, it has sections of steep, grassy and boggy ground on the ascent but mostly firm ground and good paths on the descent. Moruisg is very boggy lower down and steep and rough higher up. Maol Chean-Dearg has excellent paths, with loose broken rocks in places, but ...

Re: Name that Loch!

Loch Morar it is

Loch Maree is, as far as I know, the only other loch that has islands similar to this, so also a good guess.

Re: National 3 Peak Challenge

The website provides 3 options to suit your priorities. https://www.threepeakschallenge.uk/national-three-peaks-challenge/timing Personally I'd bend the rules and aim to be on all 3 summits within 24 hours, thus not including one ascent and one descent in the timing. But it's not my idea of fun anyw...

Re: Where's the picture ? - Scotland (part 3)

This is a round of 3 Munros. I think that narrows it down a lot.

Re: Where's the picture ? - Scotland (part 3)

Re: River crossing

They're 420g, so probably heavier than most sandals or flip flops.

Re: River crossing

Thank you so much for all this. I saw this picture of a couple happily wading through a stream and thought I was missing something and there were waterproof boots so I didn't need to take my boots off (I use the barefoot, poles and bugger that's cold technique :) ) If I read this right, you're miss...
