An Easains Inversion

With a very promising forecast for clear skies, we set off up the A82, passing a clear Ben Lomond backed by the stars in the 5.30am sky. Now in daylight, we were swamped in fog as we passed Bridge of Orchy and Loch Tulla - this will burn off - the forecast said it would. Up on Rannoch Moor it was cl...

Re: Ben Bowie

As this is a rather uninspiring review on a hill I know quite well, here are a couple of photos (from the summit cairn) to redress the balance and perhaps inspire a return visit :

Ben Lomond to the north....

....and the Firth of Clyde and Arran to the south west

I do however concede that the views are not always this good...

Re: Ben Bowie

Cracking wee hill Ben Bowie, and as my local hill I've been up it many times. The views across to the Luss hills and Loch Lomond / Ben Lomond are superb for such little effort, as are the views to as far as Goat Fell on Arran in the other direction. It's now the target of my first attempts at hill r...

Re: Been walking? No trip report but want to share some Phot

This is almost a review of my year in Munros - over 50 done this year, mostly new ones but some for the second and even third time. The photos have all been through photoshop in an attempt to be 'arty'. Whether it works or not is up to you. Hope you enjoy them :D ac1.jpg ac2.jpg ac3.jpg ac5.jpg ac7....

Re: From Lightning Bolt to Thunderbolt

Nice report Pete. I did exactly the same route on exactly the same day and have almost exactly the same photos! Judging by the shadows you left a little later than me. I wasn't going to go down the scree, but a guy I met at the summit of Sgorr Dhonuill had just come up it and suggested it was nae pr...

We...

Creag Meagaidh - 9 Summit Circuit

My first report on here, so I hope I've done everything right with photos and gpx files! our_route.gpx There is a back story to this selection of route : With my usual climbing partner, Mrs M, at work for the weekend, I was talked into going 'for a long one' by Mr M Snr. With most of his munro map t...

Re: Banging out the The Ben Lui Four in the Snow...

Nice photos It was probably at least some of my tracks you followed (back, for me) up to Dubhchraig. I bagged Dubhchraig and Oss today from Dalrigh (having done the other two many years ago) and met two guys going for the whole set of four - one of whom is probably who indulged you with a summit pho...

Hello! A Return to the Hills....

Hello Walkhighlanders! (I hope that is the correct term to use) Terrific website! I joined a few months ago but wanted to find some specific photos before posting an introduction. Now I've found them, here goes. I climbed my first Munro a week before my 7th birthday. It was Beinn Narnain, and I reme...
